APPOINTMENTS
Q:
How do I make an appointment?
A:
Call our
friendly receptionists at (847) 398-0400 between 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM,
Monday
thru Friday or
on Saturday from 8:30 AM - 12:00 Noon.
Q:
Do you offer same-day sick appointments?
A:
Yes we
do. Please call us at (847) 398-0400 to speak with a nurse.
Q: Why do I need to speak to a nurse
prior to making a sick appointment?
A:
In order
to effectively triage our patients, we ask that parents who
are requesting
a same day
appointment for their child speak to a nurse. The nurse can
then both
assess
how immediate the need is for an appointment and can provide
comfort and
treatment
measures for the child until they are seen in the office.
MEDICAL
Q: If I have questions during the day
can I speak to a physician?
A:
Yes, our
physicians are available in case of an emergency or can call
you back
between
patients. Our nursing staff is also available to field phone
calls.
Q: How can I contact the physicians
after hours in case of an emergency?
A:
Call our
office number at (847) 398-0400. Our answering service will
pick up and
page
our "on-call" physician. If you do not hear back in 30
minutes please call our
answering
service again and have the physician re-paged.
Q: Can I e-mail medical questions?
A:
At
APL we feel strongly that all
questions should be phoned into
our office. We
feel
that we can provide you with the best service in this
fashion.
OFFICE
Q:
Do you have a separate sick and well reception area?
A:
Yes, as to minimize the
spread of infection while you are in our office.
Q: Why does the front desk ask for my
insurance card every time I come in?
A:
The
simple answer is to eliminate hassles and to save you money.
Most insurance
plans
require that we see your insurance card at the time of each
visit. Omission of
this
step may even jeopardize our contract with an individual
insurance company.
Some
plans even go as far as to state that we should not render
"routine care" if
you
can not show us a current, up-to-date card. Please
contact our office if you
would
like more information about this matter.
Q: What payment options does APL accept?
A:
We accept
cash, check, Visa, MasterCard and Discover.
